Who? What?

Who am I?

I'm just a Philadelphia schoolteacher.  Every summer I try to travel and see the world, and during the school year I try to keep things interesting with concerts and other fun excursions.

What is this?

At the urging of a friend, I've decided to chronicle some of my adventures. I'm not sure yet what you should expect, but there will definitely be photos. There should be some words. That's about all I got so far. Suggestions are welcome.

Why?

My friend Julie, aka The Storyologist, has spent the past 5 years listening to my tales and for some reason thinks other people might find them interesting. I'm not yet sure I agree, but I'm giving it a shot.
(If you're looking for a great writing consultant, check out Julie's website, http://www.thestoryologist.com for help to brainstorm, plan, edit, revise and polish your work. I started this as a secret from her, so nothing on this blog is a reflection of her work, she's actually quite good at what she does!)

Where did you come up with the title?
"There's more to living than being alive" is a line from the chorus of Anberlin's song Alexiythmia.  The photo at the top of this blog is of my forearm tattoo of that line, which is both a tribute to the band which is so important to me and a reminder to try to live life to the fullest.

  1. I am so excited to be the first person to comment on your blog! I have a sense for finding good stories, and anyone who travels this much and has this many adventures is bound to run into some amazing stories! I can't wait to read more!
