Hanging out in Hanoi

We couldn't be in Vietnam and not eat Pho.

This pho was from a little storefront with tables and stools on the street. It was delicious.

And it only cost 37,000 dong, which is about $1.65

Not everyone open for the pho, but everyone had a great meal.

I warned A not to fall for this trick. The woman selling pineapple was offering to put her baskets on A's shoulder to try carrying it. Then she put her hat on and suggested a photo be taken. I said she's going to insist on us purchasing something and of course, she did.

Hanoi streets, like all of Vietnam, are filled with motorbikes.

Hoan Kiem Lake, where legend has a turtle gave General Le Loi a sword which helped him expelled the Chinese from Hanoi.

Houses by the lake.

Elissa by the lake.

I was standing on the red bridge which leads to the Jade Mountain Temple, Den Ngoc Son.

The turtle theme is strong here.

I wanted to check out this neat looking concept coffee shop but never got a chance.

Thap Rua, the turtle tower. Because of the turtle story, duh. The pagoda is a well known icon of the city.

St Joseph's Cathedral

Built by the French in 1886 after they conquered Hanoi.

Random street.

Minions everywhere!
