After we crossed in Lao, we boarded a slow boat on the Mekong River for a two day trip to Luang Prabang.
A family lives on the boat, and they take passengers back and forth. Our group had rented the entire boat, so it was just us for the two day trip.
Typically the trips stop in the village of Pak Beng for the night, so a lot of boats were docked when we stopped.
Each day the ride was about 6 or so hours, with lush, green mountains all around.
The first day we brought our lunches and the second day the family cooked a delicious lunch.
There were a few weird things along the route, like this temple.
But otherwise it was two relaxing days of this.
Many little villages didn't even have a dock or steps, just a path down to the river.
It was a relaxing two days.
