Pak Ou caves

About 45 minutes before we got to Luang Prabang we made a stop at the Pak Ou Caves. There are two caves, lower and upper, which as filled with Buddha statues of all sizes.

It would be easy to pass by the caves when on a boat.

This is the lower cave.

All the nooks and crannies had statues supposedly by people over the years.

Then we climbed to the upper cave.

This cave was much larger and not as open, so it was very dark inside.

The dark made it difficult to see what I was taking photos of.

Then we headed down to the boat for the final bit of the journey to Luang Prabang.
