Hanoi: Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh's house

From Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum the next stop was the Presidential Palace. The Palace was built by the French for the governor of Indochina, though Uncle Ho didn't live there,  he had a separate, simpler house built nearby.

The cars that he used to get around, donated by various countries are on display in the garage.

The grounds contained a pretty pond.

This is Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts. A man of the people, he lived simply.

Apparently many of the flowers and fruit trees on the property were planted by Ho Chi Minh.
