Our first official activity as a tour group was a longboat ride through the canals of Bangkok. There is a lot of water around and under the city, like Venice. Supposedly Bangkok is sinking at an alarming rate.
Our boat
It looks like this
We went past temples
And buildings that have seen better days
And temples
And a place where one can feed fish
And nicer houses
And doggies
Through intersections
And past temples
And markets
And weird art installations
And temples
Around different canals
Where people sold things
And past temples
We got off at Tha Tien pier where we went to see the reclining Buddha, but not before we bothered a street vendor making pomegranate juice.
The juice was so cool and refreshing!
