One might think that after spending three weeks studying religion in Japan and visiting countless shrines and temples, I might be over the idea of visiting more. Not true. Miyajima has many temples and shrines, both large and small, and I visited many of them.
Daiganji Temple is a Shingon temple that now house several Buddha statues that were removed from Senjokaku and the five Storied Pagoda after Shinto and Buddhism were separated.
The temple is dedicated to Benzaiten, the Goddess of eloquence, music, wisdom and wealth.
