No, it's not Times Square

Whike in Tokyo, we stayed in Shinjuku. It's big, it's bright, and there are tons of people roaming the streets. There is an endless array of shops and restaurants, bars, department stores and entertainment options, all within easy walking distance of the enormous train station. Many foreigners choose to stay here for those reasons,  so you will hear many languages on the street. It's also one of the dirtiest places I've seen in Japan, but there's so much to see and do it's easy to overlook that.

Many businesses can be found on the upper floors of buildings, not just ground level

Found a Hawaiian restaurant for dinner

So many people on the street. This is a Sunday evening around 10pm

People watching from a great wine bar we found with rare outdoor seating

13th floor views looking out over the city

Towards Shinjuku station

Same view at night
