Kyushu National Museum

Dazaifu is also the home of the Kyushu National Museum. The museum tries to capture the formation of Japanese culture from the perspective of Asian history.

The long path to the museum was awash in colored lights.

The building itself was interesting.

Some of the exhibits were very interesting, especially the "Image of Ideal Asians" and the interactive "Gongs, Bells and Drums"

We had lunch at the museum cafe, where I got the kids meal. My meal consisted of juice, corn chowder in a cute little mug and a variety plate of more food than I could finish.

After lunch we meandered back towards the train station, shopping and eating green tea ice cream.

It was a nice day's excursion.
