First of all, no shoes inside. They provide slippers for guests to wear.
I gave up wearing slippers after about 5 minutes because there's no way my tiny feet would stay in gigantic one-size-fits-ogres slippers and didn't want to risk killing myself on the stairs.
Our tatami mat room was simple but was well appointed. Since we were sharing, there were two futons, complete with a comforter and a pillow (which I suspect was filled with rocks), a table with four cushions and even a balcony with a table and two chairs. There was a small television, but I refused to turn it on.
The robes were comfortable, and it was even acceptable to wear it to dinner.
The grounds were lovely, including a garden in the back.
There was a large room where we had all of our meals. Dinner and breakfast was provided and the food was incredible. The monks made such beautiful, flavorful, vegetarian meals. There was ample food, no one could go hungry here.

The second night's dinner (notice how it's all different?)
The second day's breakfast
We attended services in the morning and made sure we were inside the premises by the 10pm curfew. That didn't stop us from enjoying some spirits of our own.

Sounds great!
