Ritsurin Garden

Our last morning in Takamatsu we visited Ritsurin Garden, a cultural asset that is one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan, dating back to the 1620s. The garden has 3 Michelin stars.

We took a guided tour of a small portion of the large garden, one could spend hours roaming around.

One  of our first stops was the Lotus pond.

We were enamored with the large blooms

Pine trees planted by royal family members, including one by Edward VIII of England in 1922

The fish were so used to being fed by people they would come right over if you got close to them

Water lilies

The string is to keep birds away. It doesn't really detract from the stream.
